Back in January, we posted these two girls. We are so happy to say that both have been adopted into loving families, despite being not quite pet store perfect. We love happy endings!

New Year's Resolution: Adopt a cat who isn't pet store perfect (because, um, none of us are either!). Lucia has impaired vision and Rita has rickets, but both get around just fine and deserve forever ...

Paulette Weeks, Daniel John Gomes and 1 other like this

Kiersten BettyGlad to hear Lucia has found a forever family! Here's a picture I took of Nessie (formerly known as Rita) sleeping on my arm this morning. She loves to hold hands, sleep on Patrick Kelly's chest at night, and "help" us play board games by sitting on the board and knocking pieces over. She has brought so much love and laughter into our family.

Patrick KellyNessie is a big snuggler with Kiersten and I. She is also an explorer and does not let her rickets stop her. Recently she’s learned how to climb up onto our dining table chairs. The first time she climbed up, she was so proud of herself that she woke me up just so I knew she got up there.

Daniel John GomesHere's a picture of luna aka Jetta that we adopted from you in last year. She's happier and healthier than ever despite missing a little of her ear, but we love her just the same!

It is heartbreaking to read the postings from the people effected by the fires in California. Please take the time to microchip your animals so that they can be readily identified. Microchips are given by injection just under the skin. Prices vary but you can go to your veterinarians office or a vaccine clinic near you. Make a point to do it now. If you have one already, contact the company and be sure the information is current. Forget the company? Have your pet scanned and they will give you the contact information and microchip number.

Adoption update from another perfect home. Keep them coming! We love hearing from you!
In Anna Karenina, Tolstoy wrote all happy families are alike. I think he might have meant that they all have cats.
